In preparation for this years u23 and u18 European Championships the British team travelled out to Krakow for a 7 day training camp. The course, with all it's subtleties, was largely unchanged from my previous visit 3 weeks ago, with the only major differences being to the top section which has now regained it's wave from previous years, and a slightly bigger drop near to the finish line.
All in all it was an excellent camp. I was able to work on and improve the areas identified as weaknesses from my last visit, and hone those areas identified as strengths. To top it all, the sun shone for just about every session!
On Saturday, we left Krakow and made the 2.5hr journey to Liptovsky Mikulas (site of the recently held European Champs.) Unfortunately, the course was configured differently to the Euros and so we had to make do with the relatively flat, but still challenging, left channel.
A special mention must be made of the local Slovak cuisine. Whilst very tasty, one particular starter (Goulash Soup) took the better part of 40 minutes to eat, and threatened to take one's eye out at every spoonfull - I laughed to the point of crying!
