Race 2 - 1st

What can I say, other than a fairly unexpected result! Two fast, clean runs saw me win race two 0.07 seconds ahead of Athens silver medalist Campbell Walsh.

My first run saw me in first place, although to be honest I didn't think it was that good - there was certainly a couple of places where I gave away easy time, with me dropping in the three stroke breakout on the upstreams gate 1 and 15 for example!

It was quite surreal sitting on the start line, knowing I was leading after first runs, and that if I wanted to remain in contention for the Olympic place there was certainly no margin for error.

Fortuntately my second run was on a par with my first, going fractionally quicker, but most importantly, staying clean.

  2. Campbell Walsh, 162.65 (2)
  3. Richard Hounslow, 163.41 (2)>

Roll on Saturday, and the Olympic decider.......
