Race 3 - 8th

Well I'm a little disappointed, but I tried my best and it wasn't to be. I was certainly pushing as hard as I could, safe in the knowledge that I'd already qualified for the British team last weekend, and the only thing to gain was a place in the Olympics.

Irrespective of the result, I was proud with the way I pddled over the three race selection series, and I hope the experience will prove invaluable in a future Olympic selection event - where I hope I'll finish the job properly!

A big congratulations to Campbell Walsh, David Florence, and Fiona Pennie who all, subject to BOA ratification, qualified their place in the Olypic team, and to Tim Baillie and Etienne Stott who are now ranked number one in the run up to the European Championships, where they hope to qualify their own C2 Olympic place.

From my own personal perspective I now have the European Championships in 3 weeks to look forward to, a couple of World Cups in Tacen (Slovenia) and Prague, the Pre-World Championships in Seu, and I hope, fingers crossed, the University Worlds in Bratislava - all very exciting stuff!

So for 2008, the mens kayak team is Campbell Walsh, Richard Hounslow, and myself.

Roll on the Summer.....
