Fourth place, whilst bringing an abrupt end to my run of prem wins is, whilst disappointing, not too bad a result given the conditions. To say the Dee was low would be an understatement - I've probably seen more water in an African watering hole during a drought, than what there was in the whole of the Dee today!
Needless to say, this kind of negated one of my main (some might say only!) strengths, that of being fairly quick on white-water. However, despite the abject lack of anything more challenging then Cardington in terms of this, the course setters did an excellent job in designing something that was interesting and still hurt - a lot!
Along with my team mates, Darren and Nicky Cresser (the 'Andrew Hadfield Team'), we have continued our dominance of the team event :)!
I shall also, as of today, be performing a rain dance every morning and night in the vain hope of some water before next weekends British Open and International. Sadly, it doesn't look good; the forecast suggests we might have rather a nice week ahead of us........great!
