1st Place in the Paul McConkey Memorial Slalom

Well, a good weekend really. Four clean runs, and the quickest on each of those led to my first national ranking win in over 6 years. I've got to say I knew it'd take a while, but I didn't think it'd take this long!

I am very happy, not least because of the win, but also because of the event I've won. As I mentioned in an earlier post there is quite a bit of prestige associated with winning this event, and as such I've wanted to win it for a good few years. To join such names as Richard Fox, Shaun Pearce, Paul Ratcliffe, and Campbell Walsh is quite a nice feeling.

The end results were:

  1. Andrew Hadfield, 184 (0)
  2. Rob Neave, 193 (4)
  3. Simon Jackon, 193 (2)

Here's Mark (my Coach) and the trophy - it might not look it but this must easily weigh 15kg!

I'll hopefully post some video of the race soon.
