Another good win today in race 8 of the 9 race National Ranking Championships. The event ran well, despite a few frantic revisions to the start list caused by an oil slick meandering down the Tees which would, if it had arrived, forced the closure of the white water course.
My race got underway to a good start with a quick clean first run that put me into first position. Given that I had pretty much exploited the breakouts for all they were worth on the first run, I knew it was going to be tricky to get any more time out for the second.
As always, but especially so here, the penalties were proving to be costly, and so I knew it needed another quick clean run to secure the win. Fortunately, I was able to do so, going fractionally quicker, but more importantly going clean in the process.
